Jacinto Deleon (b. 2003; he/him) is Filipino-American and born/based in Houston, Texas. He engages with themes of intergenerationality, transculturalism, its fluidity, visibilities, and ecologies through the lens of diasporic traumas. Deleon’s work is intrinsically autoethnographic, using his personal histories to eschew colonial narratives within institutions.
He has had work at institutions across Houston, such as Lawndale Art Center, Houston Center of Photography, Elgin Street Studios, Blaffer Art Museum, and was a resident at Project Row Houses Summer Studios (2024). He is currently in residency for Oreum (오름) in Jeju-do, South Korea (2025). He holds a B.F.A in Photography/Digital Media from the University of Houston.
